Session 1: Preparing Your Spirit and Mind
Session 1 of the Kingdom Business series focuses on the
truth that we are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27) and that we have a
responsibility to follow his example (Ephesians 5:1). We prepare our spirit by
understanding work as a form of worship and as a basis for business. We prepare
our minds by drawing out creative and critical thinking skills as a basis for
addressing the challenges and opportunities businesspeople encounter in East
Africa.
Session 1 Outline
- Defining the Problem
- Preparing Your Spirit
- Preparing Your Mind
Session 2:
Discovering Your Gifts and Assets
Session 2 of the Kingdom Business series focuses on
acknowledging that God can and will supply all our needs (2 Corinthians 9:8)
according to a variable system. We discover our gifts and assets by examining
our tangible and intangible resources. We learn to appreciate these gifts as
God-given and to view them as part of his equipping plan. We explore ways to
develop those gifts and assets as we
understand their purpose in kingdom stewardship.
Session 2 Outline
- Asset-based Development
- Business Concept Development
- Kingdom Stewardship
Session 3: Analyzing
Your Environment
Session 3 of the Kingdom Business series focuses on the
importance of seeking knowledge and understanding from the Lord (Proverbs 2:6)
so that we are equipped to analyze our environment. We use three tools—PEST,
SWOT, and Competitive Analysis—as a means of building knowledge and
understanding, which are a basis for starting and growing our own
business.
Session 3 Outline
- PEST Environmental Analysis
- SWOT Analysis
- Competitive Analysis
Session 4: Knowing and
Serving Your Market

Session 5: Building
Your Strategic Framework
Session 5 of the Kingdom Business series focuses on the
reality that we were created for a purpose (Ephesians 2:10) and that we have a
responsibility to fulfill that purpose (Exodus 9:16). Using that biblical
model, we develop a framework for our business or church that enables us to
fulfill our own God-given purpose.
